Côte d’Ivoire midfielder Yaya Toure could play a part for Manchester City in Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League semi-final between the Citizens and Real Madrid.

Toure has been struggling with an injury of late, but he travelled with the team to Madrid ahead of the second leg match, which may indicate his availability to feature against the Galacticos.

The four-time African Player of the Year was not fit for the first leg semi-final at the City of Manchester Stadium last week, when Real Madrid and The Sky Blues played to a goalless draw.

The club originally tweeted that Toure and David Silva were left behind due to injury concerns, but later admitted that the Ivorian international had made the trip to Madrid.

If he manages to pass a late fitness test ahead of the game, Toure will no doubt play a pivotal role in the Man City midfield, with his defensive play and counter attacking ability giving the English Premier League club a proven holding midfielder with experience and pedigree.
