Egyptian star striker Mohamed Salah was in blistering form on Sunday night, scoring all three goals for Roma in their home victory over Bologna in Serie A action.

The Pharaoh player lit up the Stadio Olimpico and thrilled Giallorossi fans with a fine display, scoring his first ever club hat-trick in the process to secure three points for the side from the Italian capital.

The win allows Roma to keep pace with Serie A champions and current leaders Juventus, who are four points ahead of the Romans in second.

Speaking after his stellar achievement, the 24-year-old former Fiorentina and Chelsea striker expressed his delight at scoring the trio of goals but quickly turned his attention on the ambitions of the team.

‘I am happy for the hat-trick. We want to continue like that, we have the ambition to win all the games,’ Salah told Premium Sport.

‘We are now four points behind Juventus and four clear of Napoli, now there is the break and I am returning to the national team, but we have to continue the same way we are going, I want to win something with Roma.’

Salah’s excellent form is fantastic news for the Egyptian national team, as they have a crunch 2018 World Cup qualifying clash against Ghana to contend with this coming weekend.

The striker is in the kind of form that coaches hope for, and Egypt manager Héctor Cúper will be relying on Salah to score in Alexandria.

The young attacker is capable of delivering the goals against Ghana this weekend and will need to be tightly marked if the Black Stars are to contain his pace, skill and poacher’s instinct.

If they do not dedicate sufficient focus to the striker in this match, Ghana will return home with a Salah-inspired defeat to digest and a difficult qualifying road ahead to Russia 2018.
