Emmanuel Agyemang Badu recently extended his contract with Serie A club Udinese Calcio, and the midfielder is pleased that he will remain at the Italian outfit for the foreseeable future.

His new deal with the second oldest club in Italy means that he is contracted to the team until at least 2020.

Since joining Udinese in 2010, the 25-year-old midfielder has been a consistent performer for the club, contributing 10 goals in over 100 appearances for the Zebrette.

English sides Stoke City and Middlesbrough showed interest in the experienced Ghana international during the recently-concluded transfer window, but he is pleased to have the opportunity to continue his association with the Italian club.

‘I think I am very happy with the new contract I got from a club like Udinese. That means the work I have been doing there is going on well, and the club appreciates it,’ Badu told a Ghanaian radio station.

Badu is a favourite with the Friuli team’s fans, appreciated for his impressive work-ethic, friendly nature and the way in which he has embraced the Italian culture and language during his time at the club.
