Southampton striker Sadio Mané is set to complete his transfer from the Saints to fellow English Premier League club Liverpool during the course of this week.
The impending move comes following a successful medical at the Liverpool University Hospital, and all that remains is for the player to agree personal terms with the Reds.
The prolific attacker from Senegal was one of the stars of the last campaign for Southampton, and will cost Liverpool around GBP£30 million, making him the third most expensive signing in the club’s history.
The two most expensive signings for the Merseyside outfit are Andy Carroll at £35m and Christian Benteke costing £32.5m, with Mané’s original asking price at the Saints beginning at £40m.
The Senegalese striker scored 11 goals from 37 appearances last season, which included three goals against his future employers, Liverpool.
The 24-year-old will strengthen coach Jürgen Klopp’s offensive capabilities, as the club look to improve on a disappointing 2015-16 campaign in which they missed out on UEFA Champions League football and finished in eighth position.
