Mabel has dropped the first track from her Bedroom EP, due with us May 26. In the song Finders Keepers she collaborates with fellow Londoner Kojo Funds. The rapper – who’s known for his ‘Afroswing’ sound – opens the track: ‘Mama, don’t run away, you know I got it, I know you want it…’
But Mabel responds in her typically independent spirit:
‘I don’t need miracles from you, stop going all digital on me, don’t feel like you need to try and own me, because I don’t need a spiritual journey.’
It’s got the same 90s R’n’B feel to it. Not surprising given her heritage: she’s the daughter of Neneh Cherry, who sang 7 Seconds, featuring Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour, and her dad is Cameron McVey, the Massive Attack producer.
This is the first track from my Bedroom EP, coming 26th May. Pre-order now to get 'Finders Keepers' instantly 💘🙏🏽 https://t.co/lkSI3ybTqR pic.twitter.com/rCIdLzIzUo

It’s a great follow up to Thinking of You. Can’t wait for the video – we love her vocals but we love her style too. Think 90s denim, Adidas Originals, sporty CK underwear, satin, fur and on fleek nails.
