Dead Man Walking is the fourth video from his album Indigo

Once a member of Mouvement Universitaire du Rap, Elom 20ce isn’t a stranger to conscious lyrics and he doesn’t disappoint with his new creative clip.

The video features African masks, rooftops, mysterious rituals and is set in crumbling dystopia in Rufisque, Senegal, 2061, where men walk around like zombies.

‘Due to life in a merciless system, the men in our group have developed a set of behaviours that numb the soul. They made of us the doormat of the universe. But the world will see what men like us can do.’

Elom 20ce is calling for living corpses to stand proud. This is his battle cry.

But his message is ultimately uplifting. There are cuts to former African revolutionaries – ‘Martyrs who shed their blood to water the seed of a strong and powerful Africa’ – like Sylvanus Olympio, Patrice Lumumba and Thomas Sankara.
