We’re overly emotional about the Queen of Katwe film starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo. For the following reasons:
- Lupita is in it.
- Lupita is in it.
- Lupita is in it.
- Lupita is in it.
- Lupita is in it.
In the behind-the-scenes video, it seems as if all the actors are over emotional too. We don’t blame them; it looks like it’s going to be a brilliant and inspirational story about Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan young chess prodigy who becomes a Woman Candidate Master after her performances at World Chess Olympiads.
It’s directed by female director Mira Nair who’s lived in Kampala for 27 years. Madina Nalwanga, who plays Phiona, is Ugandan.
And, did we mention, it also stars Lupita.
