The London-based Calvert 22 Foundation has launched an ambitious exhibition drawing on the relations between Africa, the Soviet Union and communist nations during the Cold War era.  Red Africa begins on February 4 until April 3.

Calvert 22 aims to highlight contemporary arts and culture coming from Eastern Europe, Russia, the Balkans and Central Asia. The schedule includes film screenings (including El-Tahri’s film Cuba, an African Odyssey), a supperclub night, talks and a main exhibit Things Fall Apart curated by Mark Nash. These Soviet posters offer a glimpse into the bygone era.
