Expectations were high for the Togo versus Liberia qualifier for the African Cup of Nations. The atmosphere around the Stade de Kégué was feverish.

The match was the second match in Group A of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers after Tunisia had whipped Djibouti 8-1 in Rades.

There have been 12 official matches between both countries and Togo have won eight. But they hadn’t faced each other officially since 2005.

So the crowd were hyped to watch the Sparrow Hawks of Togo versus the Lone Stars of Liberia. And throughout the game, many didn’t stop singing or dancing.

And who do you think seemed the most relaxed in the entire stadium? Emmanuel Adebayor, of course.

Les Éperviers took it 2-1, with Adebayor scoring in the 87th minute.
