RCA Records just signed Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid, ‘cementing Sony Music’s commitment towards making Africa a musical repertoire center of the world’ – according to the press release.
Wizkid dropped the news and the single on Twitter yesterday.

The tune Sweet Love was written and produced by Sarz (who’s also been promising Jidenna and Chris Brown collabs). It’s got a reggae/Bob Marley feel.
The Sweet Love presumably refers to the love his fans for him. These are grown-ass women; the only women I’ve ever seen faint are Michael Jackson fans.
Sweet love is an understatement… D love pple have for u is unconditional. More blessing https://t.co/HJ9gwHw7wk

The video shows just how much the original Starboy’s fans love him, and not just in Nigeria. It shows him touring from Mali to Rwanda to South Africa – and how hysterical his crazy fans get.
It’s his way of saying that – forget Tiwa, Olamide, Davido, Cassper – he’s the biggest star on the African continent. And his fans seem to agree:

He may have signed to an American label but he’s still an African boy.
