Sofiane Feghouli has joined West Ham on a free transfer from Valencia.

The 26-year-old’s contract with La Liga’s Valencia ran out this summer.

Despite intense interest from many clubs including Inter Milan and clubs in China, the winger chose West Ham stating, ‘the history of the club is important for me in my decision’.

The three-year contract with Slaven Bilic’s side will mean a new career in the Olympic Stadium. The Algeria international has had 40 caps in total his career. Here what he thinks about joining West Ham in his own words below (is he crying?!):

Feghouli is West Ham’s second signing this season, with the first being Borussia Monchengladbach’s Håvard Nordtveit.
