MERCHANTS X OKAPI is bringing African fashion and art to the streets of London. From June 8 to August 31 you can head to this pop-up shop to get your fix.
This is the second edition of MERCHANTS X OKAPI pop-up shop (the first took place in 2012) showcasing African designers from a range of countries:
‘Designers participating in the pop-up will include amongst others – Lalesso, Thabo Makhetha, Fouché London, Halsted, Smith Art Gallery, Patrick Mavros, MaXhosa by Laduma, Sindiso Khumalo, Henriette Botha, MONAA shoes, Frazer Parfum, CLAN, Bello|Edu, Laurence Airline, And Banana, Laloo, Loza Maléombho, Michael Nelson, MAKONO, Malée Cosmetics, Tales of Thread and Lanre da Silva Ajayi. All brands are sourced from various African countries including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria.’

Luxury handbag and accessories label Okapi was launched in 2008 by South African painter Hanneli Rupert, called after the Okapi that is a relative of the giraffe – and nicknamed the ‘African Unicorn’ due to its appearance.
