For those who enjoyed the One World: Together at Home special on April 18th, where Lady Gaga, Global Citizen and dozens of other celebrities raised $35 million for coronavirus relief through the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund, here is an Africa focused virtual show, dubbed Africa at Home.

Canal+, A+, Universal Music Africa, CStar, Dailymotion, and many of Africa’s voices leading have decided to come together, in the evening of May 16th, to fight the coronavirus. Headliners include Didier Drogba, Kiff no Beat, Magic System, Mamane, Pape Diouf, Salif Keita, Thomas Ngijol, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Vegedream and many others who have agreed to perform music as well as comedy sketches.

The objective for this get-together is to lay out some facts and share some real-world experiences about Covid-19 in Africa. The organizers and performers intend to underline the importance of protective measures while providing support for the medical and research communities that are on the front lines of fighting the pandemic.

Hailing from Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo and many other African countries, more than 70 musicians and comedians from the African continent and diaspora have united to lead the charge against the global pandemic. The MCs will be Canal+ and A+ journalists, with messaging focused on the different ways to help the World Health Organization.

Africa at Home can be watched exclusively on Canal+ in Africa and on Dailymotion on May 16th at 8:30PM GMT and May 17th at 8:30PM GMT on A + / A + Ivoire. The event will also be available exclusively in France on CStar on May 17th at 11:15PM, as well as on myCanal and on the African network through the + d’Afrique platform.
