Kelechi Nwakali has reportedly joined Arsenal with a transfer fee costing more than £2 million.

The Nigeria Under-17 midfielder has joined the team under a five-year contract, according to his agent. Arsène Wenger reportedly discussed Nwakali’s buy alongside his teammate Samuel Chukwueze. The footballer posted this on Twitter perhaps indicating that his wait is over:

The pair were scouted at the Under-17s World Cup in Chile in 2015, where the Golden Eaglets won big and Nwakali shone. They then both met with Wenger a month ago.

The teen will have to wait until he is 18 before he takes to the pitch to play for the Gunners.
