Africa Writes festival has launched a crowdfunder page to raise GBP£5000 for next year’s festival in July.

The Africa Writes festival has taken place at the British Library since 2012 and next year will be its sixth edition. With the 2016 edition fresh in our minds, the Royal African Society (the organisation behind it) has 21 days left to raise the £5000 – a fifth of the total budget needed for the literary festival to take place.

The money will be used for a variety of things including covering expenses for volunteers to develop their education and outreach programmes into local schools and to encourage interest in African literature.
