We are proud to announce our latest venture, TRUE Africa University.

TRUE Africa University has partnered with the MIT Center for International Studies to host an eleven-week webinar series focused on various aspects of sustainable development in Africa.

This is a soft launch, so we need your help to spread the word, but before you start telling your friends about the free educational materials on TRUE Africa, we would appreciate it if you took an hour on Thursdays (at noon ET) to attend some of our webinars, by registering here.

Created by Africans for Africa, TRUE Africa University (TAU) aims to become a Pan-African learning community committed to accelerating Africa’s sustainable development by mobilizing a global network of academic, industrial and institutional partners.

Our launch plans consist of an 11-week webinar series focused on various aspects of sustainable development in Africa. Every Thursday at noon ET, I am interviewing the thinkers, shapers and doers who we see as the inventors of the future of Africa. We started on March 4th, and the series ends on May 13th.

TRUE Africa University believes in a student-centric approach to acquiring the practical higher level skills Africa needs.

Produced in collaboration with the MIT Center for International Studies, the TRUE Africa University webinar series is an opportunity for the TRUE Africa community, and anyone who cares about Africa, to engage with luminaries such as Taiye Selasi, the Ghanaian-Nigerian author, and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, the Nigerian serial entrepreneur behind some of Africa’s most valuable startups, including Andela and Flutterwave.

Jeffrey Sachs serves as the Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, where he holds the rank of University Professor, the university’s highest academic rank.

This Thursday, I interview Jeffrey Sachs, a world-renowned economics professor, bestselling author, innovative educator, and global leader in sustainable development. We will talk about the ways in which Africa can become an economic powerhouse in the next 20 years.
