On 8-13th October, Brussels Airlines and Lufthansa Group successfully hosted the first ever Bike For Africa, North America Edition.
The charity biking tour set off from Niagra Falls, Canada and crossed the finishing line in Brooklyn Bridge, New York City six days later, raising funds to support the Georgie Badiel Foundation and Malaika.
The Georgie Badiel Foundation, headquartered in Burkina Faso and founded by Burkinabé model and activist Gerogie Badiel, works directly with communities to provide clean drinking water and sanitation facilities to Burkina Faso and neighbouring Sub-Saharan African countries.
The mission of Malaika, founded by Noella Coursaris, is equally important: empower Congolese girls and their communities through education. The charity aims to bring about positive change by transforming lives and empowering the next generation of women in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Since 2011, Bike For Africa has endeavoured to help NGOs and humanitarian projects such as these right across the African continent. And, to date, the cycling events have been a great success.
