The TIME 100 is an annual selection of the 100 most influential people in the world listed by the American news magazine Time. It’s just come out this year, and has given us the opportunity to find out what some of the world’s most influential people think about some of the world’s other most influential people. It’s basically famous people giving other famous people a pat on the back – but it’s also revealing.
It has given us a chance to find out that:
Meryl Streep thinks Viola Davis ‘has carved a place for herself on the Mount Rushmore of the 21st century—new faces emerging from a neglected mountain.’
Common thinks Chance the Rapper ‘upends expectations about what artists, especially hip-hop artists, can do.’
Oscar-winning Moonlight director Barry Jenkins thinks Get Out director ‘Jordan Peele is America. And she is him.’
Venus Williams thinks Queen Sugar director Ava DuVernay’s ‘point of view is fresh, it’s inspiring, it’s original, it makes people’s heads turn. But she also embraces other people’s perspectives.’
A$AP Rocky thinks Calvin Klein creative director Raf Simons has ‘built a whole new religion around fashion.’
