Cameroon star Nicolas N’Koulou is closing in on a move to Lyon after rejecting offers from Besiktas, Roma and West Ham United.
The defender’s contract with Marseille expires at the end of June and he is refusing to sign a new deal.
Clubs from around Europe have been alerted to N’Koulou’s availability and the fact he can be snapped up for free.
The centre-back has appeared 68 times for Cameroon while he has also made over 150 appearances for Marseille in France’s top flight and teams are eager to take advantage of signing a player of that quality for nothing.
Initially West Ham were keen on bringing N’Koulou to the Premier League while his agent, Maxime Nana, also revealed Roma held talks.
‘I can confirm that Roma are interested,’ Nana told PagineRomaniste.com.
‘Right now there are some talks being held with the directors of Roma, although nothing has been agreed and no conclusion has been reached yet.’
However, N’Koulou is now set to join fellow French club Lyon after undergoing a medical today.

Several news outlets in France have reported the news, including L’Equipe, and the defender is hoping to pen a four-year contract by the end of the week.
Besiktas, Roma and West Ham all made approaches for N’Koulou too, but he has decided that he would prefer to continue his career in France.
