The Christmas countdown has begun! Time to wind down at work and get ready to head back home to celebrate the end of the year with our family and friends.

As many of us know, Christmas and New Year’s hols are essentially Africa’s summer mainly because it’s the best season all year round – post rainy season, dry season or in the most southern parts, winter! The weather during the end of the year is sublime; it is hot but not toooo hot; the sun’s out and the sky is blue; so we beach, we party, we chop, we drink outdoors, we dance all night – tis the season to be jolly after all!

Returning home for the hols also means that it is time to bring out our A-game in our fashion fam! And what better place to get our designer fix this Christmas and New Year than on the home continent? There is an abundance of talented designers making waves not just all over Africa but also on the international fashion scene.

Some you may have heard of, some you may already wear, some you may have seen in Vogue or on Michelle Obama or Beyoncé!
