Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa will soon be a Leicester City player, according to his current coach at Russian club CSKA Moscow.
The 23-year-old will make his way to the English Premier League champions following a chase for his signature that has gone on since the mid-season transfer window at the beginning of the year.
In an interview with Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, CSKA Moscow coach Leonid Slutsky confirmed that Musa would be making the move to Claudio Ranieri’s side with a medical to be completed in the coming days.
West Ham United and Southampton both showed interest in the skilful Nigerian, but an offer of around GBP£16 million will now see Musa join the Foxes.
He was an important protagonist for CSKA Moscow in a title winning season for the Russians, scoring 18 goals to help secure Russian Premier League glory for his club.
With Leicester City now assured of UEFA Champions League football next season, they are strengthening their squad to deal with the demands of European club commitments, and the Super Eagles star is part of those plans.
