Aero Manyelo is a musician/producer from Limpopo, South Africa. He’s worked with the best homegrown talent like Soul Candi and BlackwHole Entertainment. He’s released a track on Boddhi Satva’s Offering Recordings and his third album, Herbs Abroad on Ghana-based label Akwaaba Music. Here’s his dream collab and what he’s up to next ahead of CTEMF.
What kind of set are you going for at Cape Town Electronic Music Festival?
I don’t usually plan my sets: it all depends on the audience’s mood.
Who would your dream collaboration be with?
German pair Booka Shade.
Akwaaba Music released your EP Herbs Abroad. Tell us more about the album, the concept and the title: are you advocating the use of drugs?
My label is called Herbal 3 Records, so by us using the phrase it means Herbal 3 Records music. So the title Herbs Abroad meant Herbal 3’s music going abroad. It has nothing to do with w**d or dr*gs.
What should we look forward to from you next?
I’m busy preparing my next single which will be out in March and the new music video.
