Leicester City have stormed the shortlist for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award with three players nominated: Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kanté.
Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Arsenal’s Mesut Özil and West Ham’s Dimitri Payet are also on the list.
Africa is well represented: there are three players with links to the continent. Kanté plays for the French national team but is of Malian descent. And he might not be staying long at Leicester City. According to the Daily Mail, he has a £20 million buy-out clause and Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be interested.
The winners for each category will be announced on Sunday 24 April.
