Nigerian president Muhammad Buhari is to spend 10 days resting in London post-treatment of an ear infection.
The 73-year-old leader had previously spoken out against Nigerian officials who are ‘medical tourists’ and pay for their treatment using government budget . The announcement that he would be seeing a ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist in London has been met with disdain from many Nigerians.
If Buhari really cared about Nigeria's economy he wouldn't waste money and go to London over an ear infection. He'd have a Dr come to him.

The news has caused an outrage across the internet, with many calling out the double standard. Ear infections may be painful but he’s not getting much sympathy.
Many have picked up on the fact that the state hospital that caters to government officials and their families received a significant amount of funding from the annual budget, yet Buhari is still seeking treatment elsewhere.
