Growing up reading and watching Harry Potter as an African kid, you probably always wondered when you’d read about African wizards.

Sure, we had Kingsley Shacklebolt, the first black Minister of Magic – but that was never quite enough, was it.

Well you can now relax because JK Rowling has announced an African wizarding school. At first, people were upset that she seemed to be yet another person confusing Africa with a country.

The school named Uagadou has a reputation for students skilled in Astronomy, Alchemy and Transfiguration. JK Rowling mentioned that it is the largest of all schools in Africa and that it is located in the Mountains of the Moon in Uganda.

Uagadou sends admission through Dream Messengers – the only school in the world to do so.
