With only a year left on his current contract and no negotiations on the table for a new one, Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is currently considering his options away from the west London club. Although the January transfer window is still months away, the Nigerian said ‘I will decide where is best for me and my family’.

Mikel is yet to start a game for Chelsea this season primarily due to the arrival of French international N’Golo Kanté, who has been preferred in the holding midfield role by new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte. He is the longest serving Chelsea player after skipper John Terry and has had an accomplished 11 years at the club, winning the English Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Champions League.

If Mikel is to leave the club, he will have no shortage of offers for his services. China could be an option, where he could join former teammates Demba Ba and Ramires in the Chinese Super League.
