Jaden Smith gave fans a present on his birthday last week. But fans want more and are hoping that Labor V2 is the first track of his long-awaited debut album.
The track starts off celebrating his milestone birthday ’18, 18 18, yeah.’ But then Smith’s lyrics deal with everything from fashion, to gender and democracy. And he doesn’t shy away from what’s happening in the US at the moment.
‘And how many times am I telling them/ Just because you see the melanin doesn’t mean that I’m a felon/ I’m here to show you the intelligence.’
You’ll also be able to catch him on screens in Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix drama The Get Down in August.
