AFROPUNK, the alt-black culture festival hailing from Brooklyn have chosen London as their latest destination, riding the wave of excitement post-AFROPUNK Paris this June.

You may have spotted these ominous posters dotted around East London if you’re in town as a mark of what’s to come:

Ace Hotel in Shoreditch hosted AFROPUNK’s inaugural gathering in London, inviting ‘friends and family’ to get a taste of what AFROPUNK will be like at Alexandra Palace on September 24. Spoken wordsmith Akala to DJs like Radio 1’s Clara Amfo rubbed shoulders with some of London’s most exciting black creatives. Check out some of what went down below:
